Tourism without Borders - New Challenges

Anna Somorowska These days travelling has become not only an element of leisure but of a career, education and fulfilling personal aspirations as well. People visiting a European city, apart from sightseeing and cultural attractions, look for space for active leisure, go to spas and beauty parlours. Activity holiday in a city? Or perhaps a spa in Silesia or a prestigious congress in Masuria? Now it is possible. Present-day tourism overcomes all the former barriers and stereotypes. Analysing trends in lifestyle, monitoring changes in the images of towns, cities and tourist regions are a sine qua non of the survival on the market, a basis for building up and managing the competitive product.

The goal of the Tourism Panel is to present new trends and phenomena in tourist services sector bearing impact on new developments in territorial marketing. This year's Panel, a series of lectures and speeches divided into four thematic blocks, will present both the area of problems and opportunities resulting from new realities of tourist industry. It will stimulate discussion on changes in marketing, research and social trends, and can initiate a new era in world tourism.
