New Challenges in the World Economy in the Time of Crisis in Relation to
Maritime Economy

This year's Maritime Economy Panel will be devoted to presentation and
discussion diversified impact of the world financial and economic crisis
on the Polish maritime economy.
An introduction to the sectoral discussions, status quo and prospects of
Polish economy on the background of the world crisis impact will be
discussed by eminent, independent financial experts, professors M.
Gronicki and J. Hausner [Ministers of Finance and Economy, respectively,
in the Government of J. Belka].
Problems encountered recently by individual maritime economy sectors
will be discussed by their eminent representatives who would present
them from the point of view of:
- port authority
- shipyard company
- container shipping operator
- inland forwarder and carrier
These topics widely discussed from numerous angles will let the audience
revaluate or form their own opinions concerning business perspectives of
their maritime sectors.
At the same time, the conclusions presented by individual speakers will
help the audience to identify threats and take preventive measures. This
would give them the tool for constructing strategies for development of
individual companies in the environment of the world crisis and
recession.
